Blanco Kitchen Remodeling: The Pasadena Owner’s Guide

A full Blanco kitchen remodel in Pasadena typically runs $14,000 – $45,000 installed, depending on whether you’re refreshing surfaces around existing Blanco components or replacing worn Blanco sinks, faucets, and accessories as part of a larger cabinet and countertop project. We stock Blanco-compatible parts for the most common failure points, and we can have a technician at your home to assess the scope within days, not weeks. Most Pasadena owners discover they need this work when a Blanco sink shows hairline stress cracks around the drain opening, a Blanco faucet cartridge starts dripping despite a new washer, or the finish on a Blanco Silgranit sink has dulled past the point where a deep clean brings it back.

You don’t need to rip out the whole kitchen to fix what’s failing. The question is whether the part you need is still in production for your Blanco series, and whether the surrounding counter and cabinet work can be done without disturbing the Blanco pieces you’re keeping. That’s where we spend most of our time on the first visit: identifying the exact model, checking fitment, and giving you a written price before a single drop cloth goes down.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco has manufactured kitchen sinks and faucets across several distinct series lines, and the part compatibility between them is not always obvious. The Silgranit line (PuraDur composite) uses a different drain assembly and mounting system than Blanco’s stainless steel sinks, and the faucet cartridges differ between the Blanco Culina, Linus, and Solenta series even when the exterior finish looks identical. Here’s the gotcha most owners hit: a Blanco faucet from the Solenta line will not accept a cartridge ordered by “looks like my faucet” alone. You need the model number printed on the tag under the sink, or the series name cast into the faucet body below the handle.

For sinks, the two critical measurements are the overall bowl dimensions and the drain hole diameter. Blanco drains are 3.5 inches on most models, but the depth of the flange and the type of basket strainer differ between the older Precis series and the current Diamond series. If you have a Blanco undermount sink installed in 2008 – 2013, there’s a decent chance the original drain collar has corroded at the weld points, especially in Pasadena homes where hard water accelerates mineral buildup at the metal-to-metal seam. We’ll match OEM Blanco parts when the series is still supported, and we’ll recommend a verified aftermarket equivalent when Blanco has discontinued the line and OEM inventory is gone. Either way, the part gets named on the written quote so you know what you’re paying for.

Signs Your Blanco Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Hairline cracks radiating from the drain opening on a Silgranit sink. This is the classic failure we see in older Blanco composite sinks, and it’s caused by thermal shock over years of pouring boiling pasta water directly into a cold basin. The crack starts as a cosmetic line and eventually becomes a leak path. Once it’s visible, it rarely stops spreading.
  • A Blanco faucet that drips after the cartridge is replaced. When a new cartridge doesn’t stop the drip, the real problem is usually a worn valve seat inside the faucet body, not the cartridge itself. On Culina and Linus models, the seat is machined brass and can pit over time, which means the faucet body is done, not the part you just bought.
  • Silgranit finish that has gone chalky and won’t come back. Blanco’s PuraDur finish is tough, but years of hard Pasadena water and abrasive cleaners can wear the surface layer. The sink still functions, but the dull patch is permanent. Some owners live with it; others plan the sink replacement around a countertop swap we’re already doing.
  • A Blanco sink that sags or shifts under the counter. This is an installation failure, not a sink failure, but we see it often enough in Pasadena’s older Craftsman homes where the original undermount clips were installed without enough support. The silicone bead eventually separates and the sink drops a quarter inch. Left alone, water gets between the sink and the counter and rots the substrate.
  • Blanco faucet finish flaking near the base. Blanco’s stainless and chrome finishes hold up well, but their matte black and oil-rubbed bronze finishes can delaminate at the high-wear area where the handle meets the body. It’s a finish bonding issue specific to certain production years, and it’s a replacement situation, not a polish situation.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A galley kitchen opened up to the dining room with a new peninsula

In Pasadena, a Blanco faucet or sink replacement as a standalone job lands between $400 and $1,800 installed, depending on the series and whether the existing plumbing shuts off cleanly. A full kitchen remodel that includes new Blanco fixtures plus cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and island work runs $14,000 – $45,000. The spread is wide because a small galley kitchen with stock cabinets and a single sink is a very different project from a Bungalow Heaven kitchen where we’re preserving original Craftsman trim while the countertop team templates around a new undermount bowl.

Every quote includes the line-item price for the Blanco part, the labor to remove the old fixture and install the new one, and any disposal of the old sink or faucet. We also include shoe covers, drop cloths on the floors and counters, and a photo of the clean-up before we leave. Graham Stein’s rule on pricing applies here the same as on a full remodel: the price you see on paper is the price you pay at the end, no footnotes.

DIY or Call Us?

Replacing a Blanco faucet cartridge is something a careful homeowner can do with a hex key and fifteen minutes, provided you’ve correctly identified the exact cartridge for your series. Replacing a Blanco kitchen sink, on the other hand, is not a weekend project. Undermount sinks are held from below, and getting the old bowl out without damaging the counter edge usually requires cutting the silicone bead while supporting the sink’s full weight. If the sink drops while you’re underneath it, you’re looking at a cracked countertop or worse. We’ve also fixed more than one DIY faucet swap where the homeowner cross-threaded the supply line nut and turned a $600 faucet replacement into a $1,400 wall repair.

If the part is a cartridge, a sprayer head, or a drain basket, most owners can handle it. If it’s the sink itself, the faucet body, or anything involving the countertop, call (626) 714-2992 and let us look at it before you start. We’re happy to tell you if it’s genuinely a DIY job, and we won’t sell you a service call if you don’t need one.
