ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling: The Pasadena Owner’s Guide
We stock, match, and install ViewLux-compatible kitchen hardware, cabinet components, and fixture parts across Pasadena, with most full kitchen remodeling projects running $14,000 – $45,000 installed. If you have a ViewLux hinge that’s sagging, a soft-close mechanism that stopped catching, or drawer slides that grind when the kids yank them open at breakfast, we can usually identify the part from a photo and have the replacement on the truck within a day or two. Most owners discover a failed part the same way: a cabinet door hangs slightly lower than it did last month, a drawer doesn’t seat all the way, or a pull-out shelf catches at the same spot every single time.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To
ViewLux cabinetry runs on two main hardware platforms: the standard 35mm European hinge system used on most of their full-overlay and inset door lines, and a 45mm mounting pattern on several of their older partial-overlay models. The 35mm and 45mm plates are not interchangeable, and we’ve seen homeowners buy a bag of hinges only to find the screw holes are 10mm off. The fastest way to identify yours is to look at the stamped code on the hinge cup or the slide rail: anything starting with “VL-35” or “H35” is the standard Euro pattern; “VL-45″ means you need the older spec. For drawer slides, measure the length and the side clearance. ViewLux has used both 3/4-extension and full-extension undermount slides across different cabinet series, and the undermount version needs a drawer box that’s exactly 7/16” narrower than the opening. If you’re unsure, send us a photo of the part and the cabinet label if it’s still there. As for OEM versus aftermarket, we stock both: the ViewLux-branded parts carry the original manufacturer warranty, while the aftermarket equivalents we keep on hand (Blum, Salice, and a few from Grass) often outlast the originals and cost 20 – 40% less. Either works; we’ll tell you which one makes sense for your cabinet and your budget.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- A cabinet door drifts or sags. The hinge spring has lost tension or the mounting plate has pulled loose from the particleboard. You’ll notice the door rubs the frame on one side or won’t stay at the height it used to.
- A soft-close drawer slams shut. The damper inside the slide has leaked its fluid or the catch tab broke. Once the damper is gone, the drawer closes at full speed, which is loud enough to wake a napping toddler.
- A pull-out shelf catches at the same point every time. One ball bearing in the slide has flattened or a plastic wheel cracked. The shelf still works, but you have to push it sideways to get it past the catch.
- A corner cabinet hinge makes a clicking sound when opened. The hinge arm has microfractured where it bends around the corner post. In Pasadena’s dry summers, the metal gets brittle faster than it does in more humid climates.
- A lift-up door won’t stay up. The gas strut or the mechanical lift mechanism has lost pressure. On ViewLux’s overhead cabinet lines, these struts are sized for specific door weights, and the wrong replacement droops or snaps the mounting bracket.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a single failed hinge, slide, or strut, you’re looking at $40 – $180 installed, including the drive to your home in Pasadena and the labor to swap and align the part. If the failure is widespread across several cabinets or tied to a larger refresh, the number moves with the project: cabinet installation runs $4,000 – $13,000, countertop installation $2,000 – $6,500, and a full kitchen remodel lands between $14,000 and $45,000 depending on the cabinet line, counter material, and whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical. Every job gets a written, line-item price before any work starts, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise applies: if the part or the installation fails within a year, we make it right. We also leave the house the way we found it, better actually, with drop cloths on the floors, shoe covers at the door, and a photo of the clean-up before the crew packs up.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: confirm the hinge code on the cup, measure the slide length, and note whether the cabinet door is misaligned or the hinge itself is warped. What we’d caution against is drilling new screw holes into cabinet boxes that have already been drilled once. ViewLux boxes are particleboard under the laminate, and a second set of holes next to the first leaves the plate with nothing solid to bite into. We see that on about a third of our Pasadena calls: someone tried a DIY repair, the screw stripped, and now the cabinet needs a dowel-and-redrill fix that costs more than the original part would have. If the door is bound up or a gas strut is involved, call us at (626) 714-2992 and we’ll get it sorted. The price you see on paper is the price you pay at the end, no footnotes.
FAQs

Most ViewLux hinges and drawer slides last 8 – 15 years under normal use, though we see failures earlier in Pasadena kitchens where the dry, warm air shortens the life of gas struts and plastic damper components. Hard water near the sink can also corrode the plating on slide rails faster than in drier parts of the house.
Sometimes. If the hinge arm is still straight and the plate is tight, a new spring can restore the snap, and we do that when it’s practical. But if the arm is bent, the cup is cracked, or the plate screws have torn out of the particleboard, replacement is the honest fix. Call (626) 714-2992 and we’ll tell you which one you’re in after looking at the part.
A single hinge or slide replacement takes 30 – 60 minutes once we’re on site. Replacing all hardware across a full kitchen usually takes half a day to a full day, including adjusting every door and drawer so they sit square and shut softly.
We keep the most common ViewLux hinge cups, plates, soft-close dampers, and drawer slides in stock in Pasadena, along with compatible parts from KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone cabinet and counter lines. For less common ViewLux series, we order the exact part and typically have it within 24 – 48 hours. Call (626) 714-2992 to schedule your free estimate or to confirm we have your part on hand.
