Meet the Pasadena Team Behind Elmstead Remodeling Pasadena
Every remodel that comes out of our Pasadena shop carries the names of the people who framed it, tiled it, and cleaned up after it. We’re a local crew that has worked together long enough to read each other’s moves across a job site without saying much. Some of us grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, some of us came here for the trade and stayed. What unites us is a shared refusal to leave a house with a crooked grout line or a cabinet door that catches. These are the people you’ll see at your door, shoe covers on, ready to explain what happens next.
Our People

Marcus D. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been running residential remodels in the Pasadena area for 14 years, and he can tell you which 1920s bungalow framing styles hold up and which ones hide surprises behind the plaster. He holds a California General B contractor license and keeps his lead-safety certification current, which matters on older Pasadena homes where lead paint shows up more than anyone wants to admit. Marcus is the one who walks the job first and writes the sequence of work that keeps a kitchen functional while it’s being torn apart. On weekends he restores a 1965 Ford pickup, mostly one rust patch at a time.
Sofia R. – Kitchen & Bath Installer
Sofia joined Elmstead after five years doing high-end fixture installation across Los Angeles, and she’s the reason our cabinet reveals come out even and our miters fit without caulk hiding the gap. She’s a certified Schluter Systems installer for waterproofing and uncoupling membranes, which means the shower pans she builds come with a warranty most contractors can’t offer. Sofia has a thing about quiet tools: she’ll switch to hand fastening when a client mentions a napping toddler without being asked. She keeps a photo album on her phone of every curbless shower she’s finished, and she’ll happily show you if you ask.
Dana L. – Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice you’ll hear when you call (626) 714-2992 at 6:30 on a Tuesday evening or 9:00 on a Sunday morning. She’s been coordinating construction schedules for 11 years and knows every permit counter in the San Gabriel Valley well enough to predict which ones will be slow on a Friday. Dana tracks our written price commitments like they’re invoices: nothing gets added to a project without a line item and a conversation first. She’s also the reason our crew shows up with the right dado blade and not a borrowed one. Dana bakes bread on Sundays and has opinions about the sourdough at every bakery on Colorado Boulevard.
Luis T. – Apprentice Carpenter
Luis is two years into the trade and already the one we trust with fine trim work that requires patience most first-year carpenters don’t have yet. He’s currently enrolled in a four-year carpentry apprenticeship program and shadows Marcus on framing and layout every week. Luis grew up in Altadena and remembers when the neighborhood was full of craftsman colonials with front porches people actually used. His drywall dust joke is funnier than it should be. We paired him with Sofia on two full bathroom remodels last year, and by the second one he was cutting baseboard returns without asking for help.
Styles & brands we work with

One Standard, Every Job
The Pasadena crew operates under one name because consistency is the whole point of a promise. Every Elmstead location works to the same Cedarwell Care Promise, but this is our town, our streets, our parking permits, and our permit counter. Drop cloths go down before the first tool bag comes through the door. Shoe covers stay on every visit, not just the first one. Written pricing lands in your hands before any work begins. We photograph the cleaned-up job before we leave, and we send it to you without being asked. If something is not done right, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we come back and fix it, no renegotiation. That’s not marketing. That’s Marcus, Sofia, Dana, and Luis crossing a threshold in Pasadena and acting like your house is the one they’ll sleep in tonight.
Why the Team Approach Matters on a Pasadena Remodel

Pasadena homes are not interchangeable boxes. A 1910 craftsman near Bungalow Heaven has different bones than a 1960s ranch in Hastings Ranch, and both need a crew that knows what’s behind those walls before a sledgehammer shows up. That’s why you’ll get the same two or three faces on your job from demo day to final walkthrough. When Dana schedules Luis and Sofia on your bathroom, that’s who shows up. When Marcus walks your kitchen, he’s the one who writes the material list and checks the cabinet order against KraftMaid’s lead times. You’re not hiring a sales team that hands the project to strangers. You’re hiring the people who drive their own trucks to your house.
We name the materials before you sign anything because you deserve to research what you’re paying for. Cabinets from KraftMaid and Wellborn, countertops from Cambria, Silestone, and Caesarstone, fixtures from Kohler, Moen, and Grohe. Sofia knows the Kohler rough-in tolerances by heart. Marcus can tell you why a Schluter membrane beats tar paper on a Pasadena shower floor. That kind of knowledge only comes from installing the same products year after year, not from a spec sheet at a showroom.
And yes, we plan around the dog. Pets and kids are not a footnote on a Cedarwell job. If you tell Dana the baby naps from noon to two, the crew runs hand tools until two-fifteen. If your labrador mix greets every visitor with a full security inspection, we’ll call before we arrive so you can crate her, and we’ll use pet-safe sealants and adhesives where there’s an option that performs as well. Ask before we move anything. Clean up like it’s our own home. Explain the price before the work. Those are the C.A.R.E. values, and they’re written down because on a long remodel, memory is not a system.
Call (626) 714-2992 for a free estimate on your bathroom, kitchen, or whole-home remodel in Pasadena. Dana will answer, and Marcus can usually walk the job within the same week. You’ll get a written price before anything starts, and the same crew from first hammer to final photo.
